Hannah Montana Creator: 'Leave Miley Cyrus Alone!'

One of the men responsible for giving Miley Cyrus a breaking role in hit show Hannah Montana has asked press to leave her alone and stop scrutinising her life.

The 15-year old shot to international fame on the Disney Channel programme, but has been hit by a series of scandals throughout this year.

Most recently, the teen was accused of inappropriately flaunting her body in a controversial Vanity Fair photoshoot.

But Michael Poryes, co-creator and executive producer of the series, insists the media should stop giving Cyrus a hard time, as she is just going through the usual stresses of being a teenager.

He says: "To say the tabloids are paying attention to her is a very kind way of saying it. It becomes like Miley Cyrus bites her finger nails is news at 11.

"They don't give her a break for being able to go through the aches and pains of being an adolescent. Everyone has the right to go through being an adolescent. They blow everything out of proportion and a little misstep becomes the biggest tragedy that ever struck mankind."

And Poryes reveals that everyone involved with the TV show is going out of their way to make Cyrus feel better about herself.

He adds: "The challenge of that is to do our best to make Miley feel - at least in this circle of people - that it's fine to make mistakes, you're not going to be judged or scrutinised on set."
